John Joseph Abercromby of South Carolina

1. James I, King of Scots = Joanna Beaufort

2. Joanna Stewart = James Douglas, 1st Earl of Morton

3. John Douglas, 2nd Earl of Morton = Janet Crichton

4. Elizabeth Douglas = Robert Keith, Master of Marsichal

5. William Keith, 4th Earl Marischal = Margaret Keith

6. William Keith, Master of Marischal = Elizabeth Hay

7. Barbara Keith = Alexander Forbes, 8th of Pitsligo

8. John Forbes, 9th of Pitsligo = Christian Ogilvy

9. Mary Forbes = Walter Ogilvy, 6th of Boyne

10. Christian Ogilvy =  Sir James Baird of Auchmedden

11. Elizabeth Baird = Sir Alexander Abercromby, 1st Bt. of Birkenbog

12. Sir James Abercromby, 2nd Bt. of Birkenbog = Mary Gordon

I question this filiation.  There were Abercrombies in Skeith prior to the time of John and the statement of John Joseph that John was a younger son of Birkenbog is somewhat vague.

13. John Abercromby of Skeith = Mary Grant

14. James Abercromby = Katherine Thomson

15. Alexander Abercromby = Ernestine d’Herent

16. John Joseph Abercromby, immigrated to Charleston, South Carolina, in 1773, married 7 January 1791 at Pon Pon Parish, South Carolina, to Sarah De Normandie, and died after August 1804 leaving issue.
